I love you, mommy.

Such phrase is music to my ears. The little girl blurts that out every now and then countless times in a day and out of the blue :) Wouldn’t that just melt your heart and is the sweetest thing ever?

These are the joys of motherhood. Simple but definitely priceless.

Getting into the healthcare profession.

Do you know of anyone who is in search of good medical assistant schools? The healthcare profession is now getting tougher and tougher to penetrate as certain medical assistant programs require highly specialized training so it is now recommended to enroll in medical assistant training programs to have an edge when applying for jobs in this field. It is quite a common knowledge that medical assistant jobs pay quite well so a lot are now considering into getting into this kind of profession. And my sister is no exception. She has plans of (yes you guessed it right) working abroad to earn big bucks so she is now into one of these programs. Getting her training from the schools mentioned in the above links will give her a better chance of getting a better job in the healthcare profession, with a better pay she hopes as the site above strives to provide the most up-to-date medical assistant schools and certification information from the leading online and campus healthcare schools across the US. My sister is so excited for this new chapter in her life and I am too. I hope this is the right thing for her to do to secure her future.

I am sure though that whichever Medical Assistant Training School she chooses to enroll in from the site will provide excellent career preparation as all schools are highly recommended.

My yummy kare-kare.

Since I was home the whole day today, I decided to try cooking Kare-Kare. My first ever attempt to cook the dish. Thanks to Juliana and Pinoycook for the recipe I used as guide.

Modesty aside, it was yummy! Even if it doesn’t look like it, it sure was. Promise. Jon said it was, really :)

The time to rest.

I’m planning to get holed up at home until the 25th so expect no interesting post from me until then :D I finished getting everything we need for noche buena so no need to rush anywhere near a mall or the grocery. It’s going to be uber traffic so I’m staying away from those places. Oppps, we’re watching Barney on Sunday so we’re leaving the house then but other than that, Sophia and I will be all tucked in comfortably here at home. We need rest for pete’s sake. We’ve been in the mall every single day since I can’t remember when anymore. We usually go straight to the mall after every class of the little girl. I am damn tired! I bet the little girl is too so I’m giving her time to rest before we hit the road again come Christmas Day. She has got a long day ahead of her on that day as we’ll be traveling from South to North to pay Jon’s family and my family a visit. It’s going to be a loooong busy day.

2. U can use a title that will suit your Christmas idea.
3. Then tag as many as you can.

Christmas to me is a special time to ponder the great love God has done to us by giving us His Son to be born in Bethlehem long time ago. So, this season is a time for sharing and giving love to everyone. I feel that everyone is happy on Christmas time. Yeah, pressures on holiday expenses may bother us but if you have to remember the true essence of Christmas – you just can’t help but feel happy to know that you have made your loved one, your next door neighbor, the inmates, the homeless, the orphans, or anyone happy because you give love on Christmas day. — Sunshineforlife.

Christmas is an annual holiday that makes my little wishes come true. A pair of new shoes, new dress and gifts from my Godparents. That’s how I defined Christmas years and years ago until… I came to Bahrain. That’s when I realized what it really means. A special day to commemorate the birth of Jesus. Here in Bahrain, Christmas is nothing. It’s just an ordinary working day for almost everyone, unless your boss is considerate, he’ll give you at least a half day to celebrate, if there are celebrations happening. But in my case, there’s nothing to celebrate literally. Everyone is at work, that includes my husband and myself. We attend the midnight (Christmas Eve) mass and that’s it, go to sleep and get back to work the next day, on Christmas day. My first Christmas away from home happened in 1999. I came here in October and had the most loneliest Christmas ever in my life – without my family. That made me realized their importance. On how meaningless celebrations would be without them. To cut the story short, for me Christmas is all about Jesus and family. If you have friends to celebrate this special day with you, that’s a bonus! -When Silence Speaks

Christmas for me means giving and sharing. It’s more of expressing what you feel and making the people you love feel that they are loved. Of course you can do this everyday but having a special day to do this is one thing. Christmas is not only for kids but also for those who have faith like a child. It’s more of creating traditions and keeping it for many, many, many years. -Random Thoughts

As I have posted in my other blog, no matter how everybody (like our family) seem to be all busy with gift buying and gift giving during Christmas, I always believe that the true meaning of Christmas is beyond presents or gift-giving. Christmas gifts and the holiday cheer though are our way of celebrating the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ who came to bring salvation to all who will put their faith in Him. This is the true celebration of Christmas – HIS birth and is the reason for all our rejoicing. - My Charmed Life

Let me now tag Dzoi, Jacqui, Yvette and Annette.

In need of cash?

Are you short of cash even before the next payday hits? Do you suddenly need emergency money for something that just came up unexpectedly or are you simply suffering for temporary monetary problem and you happen to be uncomfortable borrowing money from family and friends even if you badly need it? No worries and don’t fret as you are not alone. More and more people have a need from time to time for short-term financial assistance and payday loans provide a viable solution for your cash problems. The good news is that you can now get cash advance or payday loans fast and easy online. Cash advance or a payday loan are advantages to consumers who need fast, unsecured loans in times when they can’t wait for the next payday. The loan approval criteria are based on minimum requirements that most employed people meet such as employment status, minimum income and an active checking or savings account. It’s really fast and convenient so next time you badly need extra cash to get you over the next payday, remember that there is available help for you.

We’re not going.

It’s final. Talked to my agent last night and she wasn’t able to book us for HK after Christmas.  Parklane Hotel is full the whole of December. She was offering Miramar Hotel but couldn’t get Hollywood Hotel’s confirmation so kinda complicated that she herself suggested to put off the trip as it was too soon.  Oh well …

Sana January but Jon opts for March so Nancy, my sister in law, can join us as she’ll be coming home from the US for a three week vacation.  Hay, di na malamig nun! :(   Tsk tsk.

Play online backgammon.

I personally don’t know how to play backgammon. Although some friends who usually come over the house are currently into backgammon, I never tried the game until Jon played it online last night. He was too busy to teach me how to play the game though so he just asked me to check http://www.gammon-world.com for useful information and background about the game and tips on how to play better. The website was a great help, it was easy to navigate with great color combination that is easy on the eyes. It is also available in six languages. Gammon world is a portal also offering backgammon players the latest information about backgammon tournaments and events which Jon hopes to join one of these days.

Let’s do bullets, shall we?

  • I am done. With Christmas shopping that is. I am finally giving Jon’s card a rest :P
  • Sophia and I are excited to see Barney and friends come Sunday :D
  • We still don’t have HK booking until today which makes it “malabo” na. But if you know me, never say never! :D Nonetheless, Jon promised to go come March if we won’t push through with the trip now. Biglaan naman kaseng magyaya in laws ko! :P
  • I’m bracing myself for a stressing week of being yayaless come December 28. Sophia’s Yaya Wilma will have one week vacation in Bataan that’s why. She’ll be back on the 3rd of January before finally bidding goodbye come February.
  • I am so excited for the little girl’s gifts come Christmas Day or Eve or whatever :D I’m sure she’ll be one happy little princess with her toysssss.

Five days to go before Christmas Day, can you believe that? Let’s all hope for a meaningful one :)
