Oh, neighbors.

Just like a box of chocolates, you’ll never know what you’re gonna get. :D

One of our neighbors has been seriously bugging Jon and I from the day we moved here into our house some three years ago to get a life insurance policy from them. They first sent a letter introducing themselves and how long they (couple) have been into the business and so on. I of course found that unappealing so I didn’t return their call. That didn’t hinder them though as they went all the way to personally introduce themselves to us several times. They presented what they have to offer to me three times already but to this day, we haven’t gotten a policy from them yet as I told them we already have one. Honestly, to be fair, I really liked what they are offering but they are becoming annoying already as I feel that they are already pressuring me. The thing is, the ever so Ms. Nice me who can’t and doesn’t know how to say no told them instead that maybe, if budget permits, we’ll be able to get an additional life insurance policy from them third quarter of this year. Darn!

The (frustrated) cook in me this holyweek.

Over the holy week, we did nothing but eat. We were at home the whole time would you believe? Since we just got back from Guam and are off for an overnight stay in Tagaytay this Friday and a short getaway in Boracay this May, we didn’t bother to make plans for holy week anymore. Besides, my SIL who is vacationing from the US is here for a short two weeks so she would rather spend the time here at home with the little girl, her all time favorite niece. So for four days, I did nothing but cook for everybody at home with the helpers’ help of course. Yes, I got so domesticated haha. It has been a long time since I was, believe me. I just decided to be one again as to impress our guests haha.

In the four days I was able to cook wagyu beef, mashed potatoes, buttered veggies, kare-kare, bicol express, sweet and sour lapu-lapu, kaldereta and chimichangas. Everything was yummy daw! Oh well, thanks to Pinoy Cook and some recipe books. :D

I wasn’t able to take a photo of the other dishes I cooked sayang. This was the only pic I got.

Sweet and Sour Lapu Lapu.

Sad news.

I was just talking to my mom over the phone and she told me one great sad news that just kept me so sad the whole day today. A close cousin of mine is up for a drug treatment. His parents, my mom’s cousins are devastated but are convinced now more than ever that it is the best thing to do. My mom and I think so too. Sometimes we have to make great measures to help someone even if it would hurt them at first.

The ever worried, paranoid and doting mom my mom is, can’t now be worried than ever about his two precious boys, my twin brothers who are in third year high school now.  She said she can’t imagine the boys getting into drugs because if they do, she’ll probably die.  Who wouldn’t? I think kids getting into drugs is every parent’s nightmare. The worst one I believe.

Booked.

I was able to book for Boracay this coming May 16-18 to my mom’s delight. As I previously posted, she has been bugging me to have a short getaway to Bora as we all have never been there. This morning, I was able to avail of Sea Air’s buy 10 take 2 promo so I’m giddy happy. Huge savings din!

Right now, I’m looking for a hotel to stay in at Station 1. I like Two Seasons as the rooms are really nice as well as the resort but would still welcome other suggestions you may have. I’ve considered Waling-Waling but its too far from D’mall daw and D talipapa? Another friend is recommending either Boracay Regency or Le Soleil de Boracay even if they are at Station 2 as both are nice naman daw. Jon’s friend on the other hand is raving about Sand Castles and True Home Hotel as both are in Station 1 but very near Station 2 which has all the happenings. Any comments?

If you have any suggestions, please please share them with me so I can book early. Thanks!

Long overdue tag.

Tagged by Thea. Thank you girl!

Here’s more about ME.

I AM… loud. :D

I WANT… a second baby, badly!

I HAVE… more than enough blessings.

I WISH… I had no stretch marks.

I HATE… waiting! But the thing is, I’m always late, bwahahaha.

I FEAR… to not be a good mother to Sophia.

I SEARCH… for opps all the time. Haha, pathetic!

I WONDER… if I’ll cook the wagyu beef I bought this morning at Makati supermarket for dinner tonight or not. Tinatamad ako but I can’t let the helper cook the wagyu, hihi.

I REGRET… not being able to breastfeed my little BIG girl.

I LOVE… short getaways!

I ALWAYS… am infront of my laptop lately. Thea, you know why. LOL.

I AM NOT… good at multi-tasking. I say this over and over and over. Parang sirang plaka ano?

I DANCE… really bad. :D

I SING… really bad too. LOL. :D

I CRY… easily while watching heart warming movies.

I WRITE… not so often.

I WON… nothing! I can’t remember a thing I won, really.

I AM CONFUSED… whether to cut my hair or not.

I NEED… a lot of rest.

I SHOULD… stop being too damn lazy all the time.

THE LAST THOUGHT I GO TO SLEEP WITH IS… being thankful for all my blessings.

Share a part of you Dez, Cheryll, Andrea, Jen and Jesse.

How much?

My credit card is my best friend. I take it everywhere and anywhere. I use it on almost everything I purchase as I hate bringing cash. Recently, I’m taking fancy with online shopping and my credit card is again my savior and I put it to use every so often with little knowledge that using my credit card often with my online purchases can lead to Identity Theft if I won’t be careful. No matter how the internet sites would claim that transactions are guaranteed safe, we can never be too complacent. In the technology we have today together with the hard times which makes people resort to doing indecent things, nothing is a hundred percent safe online anymore as my husband would put it. And I can’t agree more. In regards to this, I am trying to limit my use of credit card over the net so as not to divulge my credit information to anyone. I am also contemplating on taking advantage of LoudSiren fraud alert management system which is currently offering a special promo. Loud Siren prevents each of us from ever becoming a victim of identity theft by placing fraud alerts on our credit reports with all the major credit bureaus, removing our name and mailing address from pre-approved credit card offers and telemarketing phone lists and contacting us and requesting permission before any new account can be opened in our name.

How much are you willing to pay for your credit’s security? As for me, $89 a year at LoudSiren.com.

Trying to make it up.

It has been a month since the last time I saw my mom. :( Sad isn’t it? We haven’t had the chance to go home to Pampanga as we have been quite busy lately. Although we often talk on the phone, its still not enough I know.

To make up for our (Jon, Sophia and I) absence, I am planning on a Tagaytay getaway with my whole family next week. My mom has been bugging me to book for Boracay but I think that is close to impossible now as its holy week and this means Bora is FULL to say the least. Although I’m not really a beach person, I just can’t say no now can I? So I told her I’ll try to book for a Bora trip this May. I hope to get good deals as we are traveling with a big group. Any suggestions? Accomodations would have to be in Station 1 though I hope so if you know or can recommend a place, please let me know.

I failed to have a tan in Guam, I wonder if I’ll be successful in Bora. :D

We need one.

As you all know by now, Sophia and I are both sick after our short Guam getaway. I’m just relieved that we both got sick right after we got back. The scenario could have been worst if we got sick while in we were in Guam. Now that I think of it, the next time we travel, we just might as well avail of a travel health insurance to be sure and for our own peace of mind as well as we’ll really never know what’s going to happen in every trip we have. Since we travel a lot, I think getting a travel insurance is a must for us and is a wise decision too.

The thin me.

Everybody who has seen our Guam photos has been raving about how thin I looked and were wondering if I was or is taking some weight loss pills. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but I honestly am not although I would gladly take one of those when the need arises. As of this time, I just try to look at what I eat. It’s just all a matter of self-control I think. We can’t have too much of everything, that is my rule. As for my little secret, a week before the Guam trip, I only eat twice a day – brunch and early dinner that is. It worked for me so you may want to try it too but I really don’t highly recommend it as I don’t think its that healthy at all. ;)
