Plan we are putting off …

because of our upcoming “bullet”. :D

Yes, bullet, if the Chinese Calendar will be as accurate.

We were supposed to have a short (two weeks) trip to the US this coming June, right before Sophia starts school on the 16th.  Plans were laid out – one week in LA and a week in Florida.  I was even scouting for cheap tickets already as I told Jen while I was chatting with her.  I was really excited but I guess the Big Man has bigger plans for us.  After all, travel plans can always be rescheduled.  I don’t think I can handle being on my first trimester and travel with a toddler so it was a very easy decision to make, we had to cancel.  As for our other travel plans for the year, I doubt it.  Traveling has to take a back seat now.  Instead, I am looking forward to baptism and birthday parties!

Oh no!

I am not sure if this is brought about by my pregnancy or what but while I was looking at the mirror this morning, I can’t help but notice how I have aged and how different I look now compared to my old photos. At 27, turning a year older in two months, I wonder if I need to buy wrinkle cream already as I have always been told that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  What do you think? Am I just over reacting here or are my hormones are just acting up on me?  Or is this my reality now and I have got to face it upfront? Oh no!

Debt help.

With the hard times we are facing right now, news of businesses going bankrupt are becoming a very common scenario. There are a lot of causes and reasons for this but most are because of debts incurred while business is in operation. There are several ways to avoid bankruptcy and one of the more popular ways nowadays proven effective by other people is what they call debt consolidation. Debt consolidation entails taking out one loan to pay off many others. This is often done to secure a lower interest rate, secure a fixed interest rate or for the convenience of servicing only one loan. Debt consolidation can simply be from a number of unsecured loans into another unsecured loan, but more often it involves a secured loan against an asset that serves as collateral, most commonly a house. In this case, a mortgage is secured against the house. The collateralization of the loan allows a lower interest rate than without it, because by collateralizing, the asset owner agrees to allow the forced sale (foreclosure) of the asset to pay back the loan. The risk to the lender is reduced so the interest rate offered is lower.

Debt consolidation is also often advisable in theory when someone is paying credit card debt. Credit cards can carry a much larger interest rate than even an unsecured loan from a bank. Debtors with property such as a home or car may get a lower rate through a secured loan using their property as collateral. Then the total interest and the total cash flow paid towards the debt is lower allowing the debt to be paid off sooner, incurring less interest.

So if you ever find yourself in deep debt, don’t waste your time and wait for the worst to happen. Go seek for a solution and explore debt consolidation.

1st check up.

Had my first check up at Asian Hospital yesterday. So yes, I am indeed pregnant. Hindi lang nagfee-feeling hahaha. Also had my transV ultrasound and according to it, I am six weeks and two days pregnant. I am due to give birth December 3. Ultrasound results were Aok.  Good cardiac activity was noted and size of the gestational sac is compatible with its age.  Sophia was with me during the ultrasound, ayaw humiwalay! Good thing my doctor was so nice and even welcomed her. Sumuko nga lang sa mga questions ni kulit. :D

All is well so far. No vomitting episodes yet but close call, LOL. Napipigilan ko pa naman. Fox candy lang ang katapat. :D However, I do feel nauseated almost the whole day everyday and I kinda feel guilty that I don’t spend as much time with Sophia anymore. All she wants is to play while all I want is to do is lie down and rest. Hay, I just hope I get past this stage na so I can spend time playing with my little girl again. Ka guilty eh…

By the way, I am so thin now. I barely eat …. No appetite at all.

Since money is an issue…

I have always dreamed of vacationing in the Caribbean. Who doesn’t? But I know getting Caribbean villa rentals are way to expensive for us right now so I just need to content myself looking at photos over the net and hoping that someday we can have our own Caribbean Vacation too.  If money wasn’t an issue, I’ll surely go right now, this very minute.  But since money is indeed an issue, Jon and I have to content ourselves with our local pride, Boracay Island! We are trooping there next month. I just hope the pregnant me can still manage to enjoy despite my nausea.

Almost.

Jon and I were at the home depot the other day purchasing some stuff for his office renovation and looking around for cheap bulk cable deals when I suddenly felt dizzy that I almost fainted. It was so hot and the pregnant me probably couldn’t take it.  Jon dropped everything he was holding and rushed me to the car.  Oh it was a relief! I wonder if there’ll be more episodes like this. I’m just on my 6th week you know.

Still here.

I am still here. Ultra lazy but doing good.  I have been out of the blogging loop for a couple of days and I don’t know where and how I should start and get back on track again.  I hope I can manage to really be back to posting and blog hopping too. I missed all your chikas and whatnots.  I’ll visit your sites soon, promise.

Our weekend was full of  fun. It was Jon’s birthday so I gave him a surprise dinner party here at home.  Food was courtesy of Conti’s and boy was it so good!  We had Baked Salmon, Lengua, Boneless Chicken BBQ, Beef Salpicao, Lasagna and Mango Bravo for dessert.  Party lasted until 3am! Some friends slept over and went home lunch time the next day. We let the kids, Marla and Sophia swim the next morning too. Pictures in my mommy blog.

By lunchtime, we all went our separate ways, some were bound to Subic, Tagaytay and us – to the mall to meet my family. Hay, super busy weekend!

Alternative medical profession.

A cousin of mine based in the US who recently visited the Philippines has been encouraging my other cousins to try alternative medical professions such as being a pharmacy technician like him. He told them how competitive a pharmacy technician salary nowadays in the US and how in demand the job is. As a pharmacy tech, one’s job is to assist licensed pharmacists, either in retail or mail-order pharmacies, or in hospitals and perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication for patients, such as counting tablets and labeling bottles. It sure sounds easy right? I wonder if my cousins were convinced.
