My cousin’s Homeschool Graduation Announcements.

I volunteered to help my cousin look for Homeschool Graduation Announcements for her daughter. Only because I know exactly where to get the nicest homeschool graduation party invitations, at http://www.graduationcardsshop.com of course and nowhere else.

Homeschool Graduation Party Invitation

After receiving a couple of graduation invitations from friends that they had made at GraduationCardsShop, I knew that they simply are the must go to site for my cousin’s home school graduation announcements needs. We want nothing but the best of course that’s why we will be ordering from their unique and exclusive homeschool graduation invitations online. To top that off, we are looking for hassle free ordering and delivery and with GraduationCardsShop, I am sure we will be getting just that as they are also know for their fast and prompt service (print and ship the same day!) aside from having quality graduation invites.

College Graduation Announcements Now.

The College Graduation Announcements I received last week and yesterday from my cousin and neighbor respectively were a winner! They were so nice! Not to mention very well versed too and both were from http://www.graduationcardsshop.com.

College Graduation Party Invitation

I never knew university graduation announcements or college graduation invitations can be as nice and pretty. Back in the day, we resorted to dull, boring and need I say poorly worded college graduation party invitations? There was no GraduationCardsShop yet to get graduation invites that rock then. LOL.

Now, finding the perfect graduation announcement is very easy and hassle free.  I wonder when I will need one myself so I can order fabulous invites to distribute to friends and loved ones.  I heard ordering is such a breeze too as design proof is emailed within an hour on a business day. Wow, I want to try don’t you?

For your 8th grader.

How did your Junior High School Graduation Announcements look like? I’m sure they are not as nice as those at http://www.graduationcardsshop.com. Well, clearly, we didn’t have much options during the time we graduated from middle school unlike nowadays, one can choose from a variety of one of a kind and exclusive junior high school graduation invitations designs from GraduationCardsShop.

Off to big school.

Today, I paid Sophia’s enrollment fee in full. While I was writing the check and filling up the registration form, I can’t help but worry if I am making the right choice. If you have followed my school dilemma here in this blog or is a constant reader of my blog, you all know by now that my daughter goes to a progressive school called Toddlers Unlimited. She has been in this school for a year and half (close to to two years actually) already. I am very happy and pleased with this school but I think its time for my daughter to move on. I am not comfortable anymore to the setting that TU has as they are play based which I think is better for younger kids. But with Sophia’s age, eligible to be in Nursery Classes of bigger schools, I feel that she is up for the challenge already and is ready for a bit of drilling. Toddlers Unlimited is purely progressive. While others may find this an advantage, I do too, but at a certain age only. I believe at Sophia’s age, she needs atleast simple worksheets already and as I said, some drilling, in preparation for what is in store for her in the coming years. We all have different take on this matter as parents so what I’m writing in here is obviously, purely my opinions only.

This morning, while I was at it, officially sealing Sophia’s entry to big school that is, there’s this thought at the back of my head if it is indeed the right thing to do. And as I was observing Sophia in class this morning too, how she hugs her teachers and how she looks like she’s having so much fun at TU, it really tugs my heart and a part of me is questioning the very decision I just made. Is she really ready for big school? Is the kind of environment in big school the best for her now? Is she really ready for the drilling I want for her? So may questions really. After all the time I spent to give this school issue a thought, here I am still not a hundred percent sure. I guess I got to realize now that we can never really be a hundred percent sure on certain decisions, on certain things. Especially if it involves our children noh? Ako lang ba ito? Am I worrying too much? Is my being “sigurista” to a fault already?

Now that I think of it though, I guess I’m just probably having a hard time leaving a school that my daughter and I had learned to love don’t you think? Toddlers Unlimited has a very homey fell to it, very far from the atmosphere in big schools and their teachers and even aides are so loving to the kids. The kids are just so happy there. I need not explain why after saying all these great things about TU still made me transfer Sophia to another school as I already stated it above but I just wish and pray to God that I made the right choice.

Ang hirap pala. Pakibatukan nga ako at ng matauhan at magtigil na kakaisip. :D

Thanks but still undecided.

Friends, your comments on my Brent dilemma are overwhelming. Thank you so much for taking time to share and voice out your opinions. They surely are of great help to our decision making. You all made us realize a lot of things making it all the more difficult to decide that we never really took in consideration before.  I am happy to have got to see this thing in all angles, all sides.  I hope we did not miss out on anything.

Having said the above,  no decision is made yet. LOL!  Ang hirap!  You see, as much as possible, I don’t want to waste a year in one school and eventually transfer the little girl into another after if I’m not satisfied.  Oh well, what I need to do now is to personally see for myself how things are being run in Brent. I hope to get to observe actual classes, see other students in action in school and then go from there.  Bahala na si Batman. Gut feel nalang siguro.

I am praying for signs too, btw :)

Will let you all know how it goes.

Will you go for Brent?

For a backgrounder, read this first.

I never thought that school hunting will be this hard. For petes sake, we’re just talking of preschool here you know :P

As I previously said, to this day, Jon and I are yet to come up with a decision on where to send Sophia this coming June. Although we have paid the reservation fee at Rosemont, we still haven’t disregarded the option of sending Sophia to Brent School South Campus which is a good ten minutes away from our house. Honestly speaking, we have been toying with the idea of sending Sophia into an International School before but we never really took it seriously. Well, not until now that we feel that the little girl is up for a bit of drilling and is ready for big school as she’s already 3.3 yo by June which will make her eligible for Nursery. She spent a great year at Toddlers Unlimited but I believe its time for her to move on.

When Jon and I were discussing, Brent School came up. Jon was convinced its the better choice. And after reading Apols post regarding the school and its International Baccalaureate System which means that if you graduate from an IB certified school (which Brent is) you won’t have to take an entrance exam when you go to college in US or in UK, I am almost convinced too. But not quite. I was deeply thinking about it and for some reasons, I have apprehensions of sending Sophia to Brent. I am worried that Sophia might not be able to adapt to the kind of environment they have there. I am afraid that she might be left out as most of her classmates will be foreigners (this I’m not sure naman and I have yet to see, haha). I am wondering if Sophia will thrive in the setting Brent School has to offer as my initial perception is kids there will have different lifestyles, values and beliefs from us. Maybe, opposite even. I have countless worries. Not to mention the sky rocketing tuition fees! I have all the figures actually as I already inquired. Costs start from $6,000 to $12,000 a year (Kinder to Grade 12). I told Jon about my concerns and he took them well. So well that for a while we haven’t brought Brent up again in any of our school discussions.

Not until today.

My FIL and MIL came to visit today. While in the middle of discussion, my FIL asked about where we’re sending Sophia this June. We told him of our indefinite plans and how we were not too keen on sending her to Brent anymore for personal reasons. What my FIL told us after (which I can’t clearly remember now) makes Jon and I rethink our plans for our little girl. He somewhat convinced us that we should not worry about small things as we shouldn’t underestimate what our daughter can do (smart daw ang apo niya, LOL!). We shouldn’t think so far ahead according to him too like sending Sophia to college in the US etc. Well, he could probably say this because sending a daughter to school in the US is not new to him. My SIL is currently studying in Florida thats why. We shouldn’t scrimp daw on education as it’s the best gift we can give Sophia. But in my mind, is Brent actually the best? In short, now we’re back to square one. We are again seriously considering Brent School for Sophia.

Now, I need your thoughts. First off, are my concerns valid or not? Am I really worrying too much? I’m not familiar with how International Schools are being run so I have no idea. And last but not the least, my question to all of you, If you have the means to send your kid to Brent or any International School for that matter, will you send him/her there? Why? I’m looking forward to hearing from you. I hope to get as much feedbacks as I could. Help us end our misery :D

Quick updates.

This is all I could afford right now, bullets :P
